Hanson Connection Strategist Chris Kujawski working with Google Analytics

What We Know Now: Chris Kujawski

One of Hanson’s core values is “stay curious,” an attitude of continuous learning that characterizes our employees and reflects the ever-evolving nature of our industry. To celebrate this value, we’ve been talking to various Hansonites about career lessons learned, starting first with Ben Eddings, video production specialist, and then Sue Woten-Schultz, account director. Today we’re talking to connection strategist Chris Kujawski.

The Hanson Fitbit Challenge

It seems everyone is all about the wearables these days, and Hansonites are no exception. We’re writing about them, developing apps for them, and of course using them. We’re also a pretty social group, with a strong sense of community and a competitive bent. So it was natural that, back in the spring, we challenged a few of our local business partners to what we called the Hanson Fitbit Challenge.

What We Know Now: Sue Woten-Schultz

What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you started your career? A few weeks ago, we started a new blog series by asking that question of Ben Eddings, video production specialist. Today our conversation is with Sue Woten-Schultz, account director.

Celebrating the Art of Video Games at TMA

It’s game time, Toledo! Many of us here at Hanson are big fans of video games – playing them and developing them. And of course we’re also big fans of The Toledo Museum of Art. So when our museum partners announced their new The Art of Video Games exhibit, we couldn’t wait to help sponsor the opening party on June 21. We asked some of the Hansonites who went to comment on the experience.

What We Know Now: Ben Eddings

At some point in our careers, we’ve all said “I wish I’d known this years ago.” It’s not that we should have been more prepared at the start but that we’ve learned so much since then. So we asked a few Hansonites to reflect back to the start of their careers and reveal some of the early surprises and lessons learned. We’ll be featuring their responses here as an occasional series – and to kick it off, we talked with Ben Eddings, video production specialist.

Request for Proposal, or Request for Partner?

As a digital agency, we’ve responded to our fair share of RFPs over the years. Some are well thought out and others… not so much. Previously, we've shared our reflections on the RFP process, offering some specific suggestions for how to make it more valuable for everyone. But another way companies can make the RFP process better is to ask themselves: are we looking for a vendor to complete a one-time job, or are we looking for a partner to provide solutions now and guidance into the future?

This pic asks: Could the Apple wearable be a watch?

Apple Wearable and Other 2014 Predictions

With the “Internet of Things” and physical computing becoming more popular, there’s been speculation that Apple will soon join the “wearable wars” and create an Apple wearable device. We’re always up for a little friendly competition here (such as our infamous cornhole tournament and chili cook off), so recently we polled Hansonites on their predictions for Apple developments. What do we expect to happen this year?

School’s in Session: Keeping up with Digital

How do you keep up with the Joneses in the digital age? As a new intern at Hanson and a college student, every day I learn something new. However, you can’t stay in college forever, so once you’re on the job you have to find other ways to keep learning. This is especially crucial for those with jobs in the digital world because technology is constantly changing. I interviewed several of my colleagues to find out how Hanson employees stay sharp.

The 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin concluded two weeks ago, and you might call it a Hansonite’s paradise. Several members of our team were among the 30,000 that gathered to talk about a range of industry topics. Read their recaps.

SXSW 2014: Should Brands be Part of the Real-Time Conversation?

I started my SXSW 2014 Interactive experience in the AT&T Conference Center at the University of Texas where MediaPost’s OMMA hosted a panel titled “Should Brands Be Part of the Real-Time Conversation?” In our continuously-connected society, there’s no answer to me other than: yes, most brands and businesses must be available on-demand to intersect with consumers at a moment’s notice.
