Android Stats for Hanson Apps, Q2 2015

Have you been wondering what the latest Android trends are? We’re back for the second quarter of 2015 with our quarterly statistics as we have continued to develop new apps and test the latest devices.

Here’s a comparison of Android devices used to access Hanson-developed apps during Q1 of 2015 and Q2 of 2015. Of the 161 devices we’ve logged (out of thousands on the market), Samsung Galaxy devices are consistently in the lead. The Samsung Galaxy S5 continues to have the highest percentage of use at 18.6%.

And here is how the popularity of Android versions has shifted from the first quarter (January through March 2015) to the second (April through June 2015):

As you can see, version 4.4 remains the most popular version at 47.5% with version 5 a close second at 47.2%. We’ll be keeping our eye on the popularity of version 5.1 as more smartphone companies continue to release it.
